Back to School Knitting 9 Easy Knit Patterns

Whether you're the one riding the bus or the one standing up in front of a classroom, getting prepared to head back to school is a process.  From stocking up wardrobes with new clothing, to finding the right school books and binders, it's like the act of going back to school becomes a season all of its own.  To help eliminate the stress, I've pulled some of my favorite back to school knitting patterns from AllFreeKnitting in this selection of school friendly projects.

Knit yourself and your little Einstein a new lunchbox to pack full of nutritious sandwiches and snacks.  Rather than wasting your time perusing local stores for just the right fall sweater, knit your own using the basic patterns below.  No matter if you're a teacher, a student or a parent, you're bound to find the ideal project to suit all your back-to-school needs. Just check out this collection of easy knit patterns to get started.

Easy Knitting Patterns for the Teacher

Stuffed Apple Pincushion

In all the rush that goes into preparing for another school year, it's easy to forget about the teachers who make that learning environment possible in the first place.  This year, to show a piece of your appreciation, why not treat teachers to a handmade knit gift

This Stuffed Apple Pincushion (shown at left) is my favorite project for teachers.  It's not only a great pattern for using up scrap yarn, but this mini apple looks great displayed on a desk full of ungraded homework.

Simple Knitting Patterns for the Student

First Day Cardigan

Bundle up little ones in comfort and style with this group of easy knit patterns fit for any grade-A student.  If you elect to knit the First Day Cardigan (shown at left) you won't be disappointed.  Made with the simple stockinette stitch and ribbed edges, this classic design will last through all the wear and tear that happens both on and off the playground.

Children's knitting patterns are incredibly versatile and incredibly cute. You will love working up one of these back to school knitting patterns, because they're a great way to capture a moment in time. When you look back on the photos from your little one's first day of school, you will be reminded of the beautiful handmade piece of clothing you made for him or her. Whether it's a knit cardigan or a special backpack, some items carry sentimental meaning that will last a lifetime.

These are all adorable. Back to school is one of my favorite times of year (now that I'm not in school anymore!), and I'd love to do some of these items for my nieces!
