Leave a comment...Could you amend the pattern to include when the DPNs will be used and instruct me on how to finish the hat using them. Thanks.

This website only hosts the patterns, they do not own them, so they cannot "amend" with the information you have requested. The dpn's will be used when the stitches become too few to comfortably fit on the circular needle, there are no special instructions to use them since they are just being used instead of circulars to finish the hat. Hope this helps, happy knitting.

This is not a beginner friendly pattern, it's written in very brief terms and no instructions for how to use DPN's.

This pattern is written in standard pattern format, that being said, I would not have graded it a beginner pattern. The DPN's will only be used when the stiches become too few to work comfortably in the round with the circular needle, this is quite common in hat patterns, I expect that is why they did not specify it, since it is common knowledge for experienced knitters but with it being labelled a "beginner" pattern by this website, is where some confusion can come in. Hope this helps someone, happy knitting.

I make a lot of hats in both knit and crochet, but my sons always prefer the simple look knit hats. They are a tried and true classic. I will be making up several of these for winter, but also for Christmas as stocking stuffers. It never hurts to have more than one!

Sometimes you just need a basic hat pattern. This is it. It is easy to follow and should knit up quickly. It is winter time here in NYC and you can never have too many hats. In addition I make hats for charity and this pattern is perfect for that. Thank you.

love the clear colours in which these have been knit. Somehow they are brighter and more cheerful than hats knit in multi-colored wool or striped hats.

I made the medium size hat and cast on the 96 stitches as per the pattern not using this yarn, but a #4 medium weight yarn and the hat turned out too big. I suggest casting on less amount of stitches for the medium size hat.

I love this hat.I have made this one several times.Used different size needles according to yarn.Usually have to adjust needles up or cast on more when I am making one for my husband. He has a big head.Lol.And he likes them a little bigger than I do.

Agreed. I cut the size down considerably!

Never mind, i understand now that you place remaining 5 markers when shaping crown.

Knitter598 did you have any problems making the hat.If you have any questions please feel free to ask.I will help in any way I can.I just saw the comment.Sorry

I am making the medium size and there are 96 stitches. There are 6 stitch markers so do i place a stitch marker at every 16th stitch i cast on? Or is there a different way? Thanks )
