The instructions for the free pattern are for a size medium and the blogger says that the medium is a size six. That sounds more like a small to me so make sure you check the gauge and your sizing before you get to far into this project only to find that it is going to be either too big or too small.

My pre-teen daughter would really love this. She has her own unique style that is girly and tomboyish mixed together, and I could totally see her wearing this with some cute leggings. This seems like a pretty straight forward project and I don't think it would take too long to complete.

How does the skirt stay up? By tying the belt? Darling skirt. I'd like to make it for my granddaughter if I can figure out how she will keep it from falling down. Is there a way to put elastic at the waist?

This looks like it would be a fun knitting project - I think my t'ween grand daughters would love to wear something like this knit skirt pattern.
