My elderly aunt used to have a favourite tea cosy with the most amazing knitted fruit bowl on the top. I always wanted one of my own and this is the nearest pattern I've ever seen. In fact I think I like the bouquet of flowers even better. You could adapt this pattern to make a cushion with a similar bunch of flowers.

By just looking at the picture of this Garden Rose Tea Cozy I was instantly taken back to my childhood memories. I see my Grandma making her afternoon tea and delicately placing her tea cozy over the tea pot. Well girls vintage is back!!!!!! so I have decided to knit this tea cozy for myself. I am sure this will be annexed by one of my daughter in laws before I can even use my tea cozy. So yes, I better knit 3. I love the idea using pastel shades for the roses but one can most definitely use bright colors. You can always knit the roses in the color that represents the person you are knitting this for. A vibrant bubbly person can have bright reds and yellow roses and then like myself, I am more the romantic type and prefer the softer shades of pink or salmon. How about you...let's bring Grandma's tea cozy back to 2017 vintage style.
