I just love mitered squares! They have so many uses, and once you know the basic idea you can use them for anything. These coasters are a perfect hostess gift or a stocking stuffer.

This coaster pattern caught my eye. I love the retro look! I would make them in cotton yarn so they would be absorbent under sweating glasses, and you could throw them in the wash when needed. These coasters will help use up some of my cotton yarn remnant stash. Pinned!

Love mitered squares! This is an easy pattern to follow. You can make these in one color if you don't want to change colors. A variegated yarn would look nice, too. Try a larger needle size and kitchen cotton and make a washcloth. Make them out of a soft yarn and sew them together to make a blanket. Pastels for a baby blanket, vibrant colors for kids, earth tones for men.
