Instructions

NOTE
Blanket and borders are worked at same time in one piece.

Pattern Stitches

Garter Stitch
Row 1 (Right Side): Knit.
Row 2 (Wrong Side): Knit.
Repeat Rows 1-2 for Garter Stitch.

Textured Diamond Stitch
(multiple of 6 + 7 sts)
Row 1 (Right Side): K3, p1, *k5, p1* repeat from * to * to last 3 sts, k3.
Row 2 (Wrong Side): P2, k1, p1, k1, *p3, k1, p1, k1* repeat from * to * to last 2 sts, p2.
Row 3 (Right Side): K1, *p1, k3, p1, k1* repeat from * to * to end of row.
Row 4 (Wrong Side): K1, *p5, k1* repeat from * to * to end of row.
Row 5: Repeat Row 3.
Row 6: Repeat Row 2.
Repeat Rows 1-6 for Textured Diamond Stitch pattern.

Blanket

With A, cast on 115 sts.
Bottom Border
Row 1 (Wrong Side): Knit to end of Row.
Row 2 (Right Side): Knit to end of Row.
Row 3: (Wrong Side): Knit to end of Row.
Set up Pattern and Side Borders
Next Row (Right Side): K3 sts (border), work center 109 sts in Textured Diamond Stitch pattern, k3 sts (border). Continue in established pattern, working first and last 3 sts in Garter Stitch (knit every row) for borders and following Textured Diamond Stitch pattern until piece measures 12" [30 cm] from cast on edge, ending on a Wrong Side row.
Cut A.
Next Row (Right Side): With B, continue to work in established pattern until piece measures 24" [61 cm] from cast on edge, ending on a Wrong Side row. Cut B.
Next Row (Right Side): With C, continue to work in established pattern until piece measures 35" [89 cm] from cast on edge, ending with Row 1 on a Right Side row.
Next Row (Wrong Side): Work in Garter Stitch (knit every row) for 3 rows.
Last Row (Right Side): Bind off all sts knitwise.

Finishing

Block Blanket to measurements. Weave in ends.

Lovely blanket with a nice detail. I like the idea of the three colors although I am sure you can stick with one color if you prefer. Or use a yarn that has one color slowly fading into another. The instructions are easy to follow and within a short time you will have a beautiful blanket. Thank you.

This baby blanket is visually interesting due to the three colors used. You can really personalize the pattern based on colors in a nursery.
