I used to have an aquarium but due to space I can't have one anymore. So why not knit my own fish. I like a lot of detail to my patterns. Not only is there a chart but line by line instructions which I like. Hawaii is on my list to visit but in the meantime I can make my own fish to get me ready. Thank you.

I have a friend who loves tropical fish and she would adore this! The pattern doesn't look all that hard if you know how to do fair isle. If I make this I would definitely take the designer's suggestion of using larger yarn. Her design with fingering weight yarn and itty bitty size 1 needles makes a 4.5 inch fish which I'm sure is adorable. But give me some size 7's and some worsted weight and I could crank out a pillow!

Making a pillow with this pattern is a great idea! My grandkids would love it as a floor pillow, maybe made with even size 10 needles and double yarn. I would have to make two and vary the colors just a little but I don't think that would be too hard. I would have to dream up another name for it, too!
