Ive made this pattern twice now and love the look (altho I have too much hair to wear it myself). I did make a modification on the second one to make the finished edge lie flatterI added an additional stitch and on the odd (WS) rows, I K1, P15, K3 and on the even (RS) rows the first three stitches I K2, slip 1P-wise w/yarn in front. This extra slipped stitch keeps the edge from rolling and it makes the edge where you pick up the stitches for the crown cleaner

This is a lovely hat and will match the cowl instructions are also provided for. The combination will look elegant and will be a nice addition to any winter outfit. I will do it in a solid color because the stitches will stand out. Thank you.
