From the pattern it seems that the 80s ditch cast on is for the length. But with the gauge of 24 -26 sts=4", it would seem that the length would be a bit more than 12 inches. I would appreciate some guidance or corrections. From previous experience with patterns I have learned that it is better to wait for answers then to just pick up needles and yarn. From the picture this is lovely and I have the perfect use for it. I hope someone can give me some help

The 80 stitches are the base cast on, you are increasing every stitch in the 3rd row once and the 6th row 3 times, giving you a total working length of 1280 stitches after all increases are completed.

I dont know if the pattern has been corrected since the comments that were posted but it is fine the way it is now I worked up this wonderful scarf and am already contracted to make about dozen more It is lovely and works up very easy Yes when you use circular needles there is plenty of room for the stitches and then some be prepared for the final rows to take - hours per row to complete depending on how quickly you knit I used Vanna's Glamour yarn in Sapphire and it is absolutely gorgeous The Glamour yarn is only ply and it did make the scarf about smaller in length and width than the indications on the pattern I plan on using a thinner chunky chenille with the next one I make You definately will not regret working this one up Also once you have completed your scarf itRead More is necessary to steam press on the reverse side to force the ruffles to flow nicer Patience is a virtue and well worth doing this one up

I AGREE WITH JEANBOB4 8140852. I HAVE BEEN KNITTING FOR MENY YEARS THIS PATTERN IS NOT WHAT IS SHOWN IN THE PICTURE I DON'T KNOW WHO DID THIS PATTERN BUT THEY NEED TO GO BACK TO THE DRAWING BOARD.AND CORRECT IT.

This Pattern is very confusing...first you need needles that are 150 inches long, but of course they do not come that way. You need a circular needle with plenty of room for all those 1000 stitches.

Unfortunately not all patterns are written accurately.. I have encountered this problem before, either you rewrite the pattern or tear out the mess and knit something else.

zhamricks 0413476 asked the same question. What is a cable cast on? I did not see a response. Do you mean a circular needle?

I agree with the OP regarding the length of the pattern. If you use light fingering yarn, you still will only get a very short length. Also, I used a 40" round needle knitted as DP and at the end, it was almost impossible to get the yarn moved on it because of so many stitches. The ruffles did not lay softly as pictured, they are so tight and edges curled up, it almost looks like a corkscrew. I am going to frog it all off and use the yarn again on something prettier.

Fancy Vintage looks

I had no problem when clicking on either pattern. The patterns just came right up. Perhaps you need Microsoft Word or Adobe but mine were not Adbobe. A page from Word Press.com came up and then had to click each pattern. Good luck!

What is a cable cast on which is how it says to start this ruffled scarf?

The cable cast on is where you place one stitch on the needle and use the knit a stitch technique to increase the stitches until the required number of stitches are on the needle, I found a tutorial online here- https//www.wikihow.com/Knit-a-Cable-Cast-On

Why do we keep getting the same old patterns for scarves or hats? We've seen them all before. Can we have some new ones for sweaters please?

can't get this pattern for romantic ruffled scarf to come up

Here is how to get a pdf file that won't come up in the Adobe version you have on your computer. When the error message comes up and says your Adobe version is wrong, it should also pop up your Adobe window. If you go up to the very top of your screen and right click, copy the .pdf file in the address bar there, then come back down to the Adobe window. Open a new file, paste the copied file in the box and hit enter, it will take a few minutes to load but when it loads, you can then view and print the pattern. My computer does the same thing so that is how I retrieve a pdf file if my computer doesn't want to open it directly. Hope this helps.

Love it, exactly style I have been looking for; just can' get the pattern to open

You need adobe

I can't seem to find the Mohair Romantic Ruffle Scarf. The patterns are the same for both scarves. Can you send the pattern for the mohair scarf?

I can't find the Mohair Romantic Ruffle Scarf Pattern either. Both the patterns look the same to me. But the pictures of the patterns look different...Can someone put the pattern for the mohair scarf out.

I think this is not a good pattern.

knitted ruffle scarf

i'm having trouble in downloading/printing the pattern for romantic ruffle scarf, can anyone help me with a copy please

I would like to make this scarf, but after reading the reviews, I am afraid it will be too short. Are there any suggestions on how to get it to look like the picture?

I made a bunch of these scarves for Christmas presents. I agree with the previous comment that they are not as long as the picture shows. I did use a round needle in the longest length to knit the scarves and ended up using a thicker yarn in order to get more length as I didn't want to end up having to add even more stitches. I was pleased with the results, but the picture is quite deceiving.

how did you get the pattern to come up?

I had a really bad experiance with this pattern. My scarf came out as long as where the button is shown in the picture. I went out twice to buy longer needles and spent over $30 on those to hold the 1200 stitches and it was less than half the length pictured. Would definately not recommend!
