Up in the Mountains Knit Hat

We love our chunky knit hats, and this Up in the Mountains Knit Hat is no different. What simply puts this knit hat pattern over-the-top (of the mountain!) is the fact that it can be completed in under three hours. This quick knitting project is perfect for last minute DIY gift ideas or for bulking up your winter accessories. You'll have all your friends wondering where you bought this photo-ready chunky knit hat and when they learn that it only takes a few hours to complete, they'll be sporting their own in no time.

Confused about the yarn required to make it, the materials list says lion brand thick and quick yarn, but the link takes you to wool ease thick and quick yarn, can't ask a question on her page, does anyone know which yarn it is for certain?

This hat looks like it would be super comfy and warm. This pattern is perfect for that skein of super bulky/super chunky yarn that I saw in the clearance bin the other day and had to rescue lol. The great thing is, everybody needs hats so they make great gifts, or you can make them for your local charity.

I've made several of these hats and 1 skein is plenty with a little leftover. The "leftovers" are going into a hat for my grandson because he wants a hat with every colour!

How many skeins of this yarn is needed?

Hi there, sandee! Because the pattern doesn't specify, I would assume you only need one skein. However, you might want to play it safe and buy two just in case; if you don't end up using the second, you can always make matching fingerless gloves or check out some other smaller patterns in our One Skein Knitting Patterns or Stash Busters and Scrap Busters tags! Happy knitting!
