This looks like a great hat to try for someone like me who has never knit a hat before. The pattern is easy to follow, and seems like it truly could be made in one evening. These would also make great gifts for anyone on your Christmas list, or just because!

This is a good beginner project for learning/practising switching colours while knitting. I really like that this pattern uses a chunky /bulky weight yarn, as it allows you to fly through the pattern in very little time. I will be making up a couple of these hats as gifts for family and friends over the holidays.

This is a great project to learn or practice how to work with color in knitting, not just how to bring two different color strands along during knitting, but how to choose different colorways for your project. Nice!
