This is a lovely and versatile pattern. I don't have a ponytail but the good thing about this pattern is you just tie close the opening at the back. I do have friends with long hair so they would love this hat. It will knit up in no time and it also can be a good stash buster since it does not use much yarn. It will be great in the winter. People will ask you where you got that unusual hat. Thank you.
