My partner has been at be a while to make him gloves to match his hat I made him, I showed him fingerless gloves and he wants them instead now as they would be easier for walking the dog with, this cable stitch is exactly like the hat I knit him- I've put off making the gloves for too long- has anyone made this and should I be ok with the sizing how would you measure a hand for it or is it just trial and error?

I love knitting cables. It is fun to watch the design form. But when working on a big project with cables, it is easy to losectrack of what row you were on. This fingerless gloves are perfect because it is a smaller scale project but combines cables.

Also, these don't use much yarn, so they could be made with a leftover ball from a bigger project.

Hello sandeleh! Thank you for bringing this to our attention. The link has been updated. -Editors of AllFreeKnitting

I'm in love with cables lately, and these gloves are going into my pile of patterns to make. I really like that they take only one skein of yarn for both because sometimes I like to splurge and use a more expensive yarn than usual. I like that there's no border made from another stitch on these gloves - the cabling is continued all the way to the end of the glove and that forms the border. It's beautiful. Thanks for a lovely pattern!
