Someone in the family is expecting and this will be perfect to make. I like top down patterns and it looks simple enough plus it comes in various sizes. I am going to do the 9 month size since the father is over six foot.

My Great niece was born one day I made this the next day (and hat to match!) and it was in the post the day after -) Love these patterns!

I am just finishing this and it is turning out adorable. It is an easy pattern but the increases need careful counting. I used a boucle baby yarn and it is very forgiving of mistakes so looks great. I did the sleeves in the round by using DP needles and picking up 3 stitches across the bottom to close the gap. I decreased one of the 3 off the second row but went ahead and left the 2 extra on as it didn't make the sleeve too big. I felt the sleeves were a little short so I addedextra rows in the 9 month size after decreases all finished. Next time will add the extra rows in between decreases a row or 2 at a time to even it out a little. I found this pattern to be easy peasy!

I've made this and torn it out 5x, I think there are mistakes in the pattern because from 1 row increase to the next row increase, the numbers never work out. You do an increase row that gives you 71 sts when its done but the next increase row requires you to have 78 sts to complete it. No idea what I'm doing wrong everything I do matches exactly to the previous row increased but the next increase row never has enough stitches, I give up, going to look for another pattern.

Hello Elizabethanne! Which size were you doing? I've just completed the Newborn size and it worked out fine -) I notice my reply is 10 months after your comment so hope you see this -)

Let's do this one!!!!!!!!!!!!
