Slip Stitch Garter Stitch Boxes Square
"A simple slip stitch pattern alternates with garter stitch to create textured boxes. This pattern is the fourteenth square in the Harmony Blanket Knit Along, featuring 48 free knitting patterns for 6” (15 cm) squares by 13 designers. Skills Used Basic knitting skills: cast on, knit, purl, slip stitch, bind off Knitting flat in rows Skill Level Easy Finished Size 6″ (15 cm) square. Materials Lion Brand Vanna’s Choice yarn (100% acrylic, 3.5 oz/100 g/170 yd/156 m) – 1 skein in 135 Rust, or approximately 38 yd (35 m) in any medium weight yarn. US Size 7/4.5 mm knitting needles, or any size needed to obtain gauge. Yarn needle. Gauge Completed square = 6″ (15 cm) in pattern. Exact gauge is not critical for this project."

This is lovely. It's such a unique pattern, but not hard to create. I would love a scarf in this pattern.

Wow, I have never seen anything like this. I did not realize that you could make anything by just using slip stitching. Oh, but now I see that slip stitching is mixed in with garter stitches to create this little square. It does appear to be beginner friendly and a completely new design for me.

It said easy but looking at it, I thought it was misnamed. Then I read the directions and found out it really is just that, easy! It's such a beautiful pattern too. If you use variegated yarn, it will look even prettier and every one will think you worked really hard to make it.
