Super Bulky/Super Chunky yarns are so fun and easy to work with. This hat is made with a combination of thick wool yarn and butterfly yarn that are worked at the same time to give a layered look. I love the look of this beanie and I love the colors she used for hers. It creates a very pretty winter accessory.

Hi Manonb, the link for this pattern has been updated. Our apologies for the inconvenience! -Editors of AllFreeKnitting

I am always looking for quick to knit hat patterns and this will be perfect. I have the yarn, including the butterfly yarn, so it will be perfect. The butterfly yarn will add a nice touch, make it a bit unusual and decorative. And you can make it in different colors. Perfect for someone like me who wants different hats with different outfits. I knit for charity as well and this will be quick to knit up. Thank you.

This is a great idea for using up novelty yarn - pair it with a super bulky/super chunky yarn and knit a hat! Besides butterfly yarn I'm sure you could use eyelash yarn or other textured yarn as long as it was very light weight. Not sure if I could actually do this in 2 hours but it sure would work up quickly.

Just knitted this one up with Black chunky wool and my multi colored butterfly yarn and it came out beautifully. Thanks for the idea. I was wondering what to do with the butterfly yarn I had and this hat came out super cute. Give this 5 stars

That sounds gorgeous! One of my favorite things to do is to combine heavier and lighter weight yarn to come up with my own unique look. As a variation you could make the border with the combined yarn and then finish with only the chunky yarn. Of course, the best part is that it works up quickly with large needles - another one-evening project to try out on a cold winter's night.
