another knit bandana - I would increase the large size by at least 15 stitches and instead of the knitted straps to tie by, would attach fabric ties, tape perhaps, to make it easier to tie around these large necks with all the hair around them

This is a great pattern. Easy to do. However, Iwasn't clear if there was supposed to be a ridge between the color changes or not. Row 6 read knit after binding off the 15 stitiches. This results in a ridge on the right side between the colors. If you don't want the ridge then purl the row.
