It is an easy scarf and a well written pattern which makes it even better for a beginner. I like the notes about determining what is the right side to do the ribbing at the other end of the scarf. Yarn with different color patterns would look great with this pattern. This could also be a great stash buster. I do a lot of charity knitting so this will be useful. It will knit up fast and look great. Thank you!

When I took up knitting for the first time since I was a teenager, a garter stitch scarf like this one was my first project. I still wear it. Sure, it has mistakes, but I used a self striping yarn and no one notices them. I love that scarf and it started me on a hobby I have now enjoyed year after year.

This is amazing! Such a basic pattern that could be worked in many versatile ways. Love it!

I have been looking for easy knitting projects, because while I know how to knit it is not what I am most comfortable with. This project will give me the opportunity to refresh my knitting skills, while giving me a completed project at the end. Hopefully with a few less mistakes than my very first scarf had!

When I see a simple pattern like this, it says to me "stash buster"! I can easily see this in stripes or sections of different colors. I also like simple patterns because they're easy to put down and pick up, no worrying about where I was in the pattern and what comes next.
