"Your stitch count should not change, it should be consistent row to row. For every SSK and K2tog you do there is a yo to compensate for the reduced stitches in the pattern. The pattern repeat is 17 stitches, SSK and K2tog use 6 stitches to complete each set of directions, there are 6 yo's elsewhere in the directions to compensate and bring the stitch count back to the original 214 stitches, if you are losing or gaining stitches look to your yo, that stitch makes it easy to lose or gain stitches, if it is not done correctly or is dropped accidentally. Hope this helps someone, happy knitting."

"All the abbreviations used in this pattern are standard abbreviations, typically a new abbreviations key is not provided unless there is a new or little known abbreviation used. If you google knitting abbreviations, you will get 10's of thousands of results, many of which are in printable chart form, so you can print them out and keep them for future reference."

"Hi everyone, I wish you are all doing well during these hard times, and hope the new year bring us better days and accomplishments. During the last couple of months I started going over as many of my old designs/patterns as I can, either because they were not tested well, or they don't meet the new standards that I have set for my work. This Christmas scarf is an old pattern I posted years ago. I have rewritten the instruction and made the steps more simple and clear to follow. Making this scarf is simple, the only challenging part for you might be knitting the leaves, and sewing them in place, on the other hand, making the pompoms is lots of fun, so hopefully that gets you excited to make this wonderful scarf. Get set, It's time to start making gifts, so I wish you all the best, and Merry Christmas!"
