Northern Motifs Afghan and Pillows Set

This hearty knit afghan pattern will keep you warm in the deepest of winters. The wintry motifs in the Northern Motifs Afghan and Pillows Set will challenge your cold weather knitting skills. Not for the faint of heart, this afghan and pillow set has square Nordic motifs, burly moose, and strong cables repeated throughout. This rustic, hardy set would look great in any home full of country charm. With rusty red and pine tree green, this knitted set incorporates Christmas colors with subtlety. You could leave these knits out all winter long in your home.

I haven't done color work knitting for a long time, but these patterns make me want to go back to it. I like the snowflake pillow in particular so might have to work on that. The pattern calls for wool yarn, which I don't like much, so will substitute either an acrylic/wool blend or just acrylic yarn.

I am not even close to being this talented, but this is a beautiful set.

Strip D says "work chart IV"..that is for a pillow. Also I see blocks of SOLID colors between motifs on the picture.. I'd love to make this but confused..

Hi pjchix2 2802612, It appears there is a mistake in this pattern. Please follow Chart II for that section, as that is the chart used for the blanket. Hope this helps! -Editors of AllFreeKnitting

imprinted the pattern but it doesn't print out the charts

The charts are on a separate link, highlighted in green, you will have to click on them individually and bring them up on your screen in order to print them. Hope this helps.
