Duo Tone Baby Blanket

By: Mary Dickerson from
Duo Tone Baby Blanket
Duo Tone Baby Blanket

"This lovely Duo Tone Baby blanket is mainly worked in garter stitch and features the use of two colors of yarn, but could also be followed using only one or as many colors as you want your blanket to have. The pattern is very easy to follow and make, but the use of two colors makes this piece look more complicated than it really is, giving this baby blanket a unique boutique look. Skill Level: Beginner Size: One size: 30 in x 30 in (about 76.2 cm x 76.2 cm) Note about size: If you follow this pattern to the exact stitch you should have the size mentioned above, but you can easily adapt it to make it bigger or smaller, according to your own needs. Materials: 2 balls of lightweight baby yarn 3.25 mm circular knitting needles (the use of a circular needle is just to fit a large number of stitches, the project is worked in rows) Large eyed needles (to weave in ends) Stitched used: k = knit k2tog = knit two together yo = yarn over."

I have made this pattern multiple times and love it. It is so easy and relaxing to knit. I'm not sure what it is about it either, but knitting on the diagonal seems to go so much more quickly than straight across. This is an excellent beginner project.

I love how simple this pattern is and how it looks more complicated than it really is just by using more than one color of yarn. Very lovely.
