Infinity Waves Scarf

Instructions
Stripe Pat
1st to 10th rows: With 1 strand each of A and B held tog, work 10 rows in Zig Zag pat.
11th and 12th rows: With 2 strands of A held tog, work 2 rows in Zig Zag pat.
13th and 14th rows: With 2 strands of B held tog, work 2 rows in Zig Zag pat.
15th to 22nd rows: Rep 11th to 14th rows twice more.
23rd to 32nd rows: With 1 strand each of B and C held tog, work 10 rows in Zig Zag pat.
33rd and 34th rows: With 2 strands of D held tog, work 2 rows in Zig Zag pat.
35th to 42nd rows: With 1 strand each of B and C held tog, work 8 rows in Zig Zag pat.
43rd and 44th rows: With 2 strands of D held tog, work 2 rows in Zig Zag pat.
45th to 50th rows: With 1 strand each of B and C held tog, work 6 rows in Zig Zag pat.
51st and 52nd rows: With 2 strands of D held tog, work 2 rows in Zig Zag pat.
53rd to 56th rows: With 1 strand each of B and C held tog, work 4 rows in Zig Zag pat.
57th and 58th rows: With 2 strands of B held tog, work 2 rows in Zig Zag pat.
59th and 60th rows: With 2 strands of A held tog, work 2 rows in Zig Zag pat.
61st to 68th rows: Rep 57th to 60th rows twice more.
These 68 rows form Stripe Pat.
With 1 strand each of A and B held tog, cast on 45 sts.
1st row: (RS). K1. ssk. K5. *yo. K1. yo. K4. ssk. K1. K2tog. K4. Rep from * to last 9 sts. yo. K1. yo. K5. K2tog. K1.
2nd row: K7. *K1tbl. K1. K1tbl. K11. Rep from * to last 10 sts. K1tbl. K1. K1tbl. K7.
These 2 rows form Zig Zag pat. First 2 rows of Stripe Pat are complete.
Beg on 3rd row of Stripe Pat, cont in pat until work from beg measures approx 52" [132 cm], ending on 68th row of Stripe Pat.
With 2 strands of A, cast off.
Finishing
Sew cast off and cast on ends tog to form loop.

This scarf is lovely, but very expensive to make. It needs so many balls of yarn!

Lovely colors! I love the contrast of the blue section and the black section. This color blending will let you wear this with either black or blue jeans and look great. I can see this used as an accessory piece for more casual outfits. By doubling the yarn, this creates a very bulky working yarn to work quickly.

All my years of knitting and I have never made anything with a zigzag pattern but there is always a pattern to start with and this is the one. Not boring at all with the changes of color. It will be a very interesting scarf. I probably won't join the ends but will tie and drape it in different ways. Thank you.

At 13 inches wide and 52 inches long, this is a big scarf, big enough so you can double it or wear it how you like. Since you use two strands held together you could use this pattern as a stash buster for your light weight yarn. I know someone who loves big scarves like this so it would be perfect for her.

This is really different. I'm usually not a big fan of cowls because I'm short and it's too much fabric at my neck, but I think the waves on this one would cut down on that effect a bit.

Some cowl patterns are more interesting than others this one is stunning. Can't wait to wear it - but it will have to be after I finish the Christmas gift making sigh
