I'd love to make this in a worsted weight. How many stitches would I cast on?

This scarf is a pretty color, but I think this pattern would look good in almost any solid color yarn, maybe something like turquoise or purple. With thick yarn it will work up quickly. I like that it's long enough that you could double it up to make a super cozy cowl.
