Pumpkin Bowl Cozy

Intermediate

Knitting Needle Size7 or 4.5 mm, Double-Pointed Knitting Needles (DPNs)

Yarn Weight(4) Medium Weight/Worsted Weight and Aran (16-20 stitches to 4 inches)

Materials:

  • RED HEART® Super Saver®: 1 skein Pumpkin 254
  • Glass vase, 16” (41 cm) circumference
  • black felt
  • fabric glue
  • stitch markers
  • yarn needle
  • Double Pointed Needles: One set each 4.5mm [US 7]




GAUGE: 20 sts = 4” (10 cm); 32 rows = 4” (10 cm) in K2, p2 rib.
CHECK YOUR GAUGE. Use any size needles to obtain the gauge.

 

Abbreviations
k = knit; mm = millimeters; p = purl; st(s) = stitch(es); * or ** = repeat whatever follows the * or ** as indicated.

 

Note
Cozy is worked in the round on double-pointed needles.




COZY

With double pointed needles, cast on 52 sts.
Divide sts evenly around needles, taking care not to twist sts. Join to work in rounds. Place marker for beginning of round.
Round 1: *K2, p2; repeat from * around.
Repeat Round 1 until piece measures 5” (13 cm) from beginning.
Bind off. Weave in ends.


FINISHING

Cut Face pieces from felt. Slip Cozy onto vase and glue Face pieces in place.
