Is there a multiple of stitches to this pattern? Not sure I want it that wide. Thanks

Yes, the multiple is 2. To make it narrower just reduce your stitches in groups of 2. Happy Knitting

I'm in love with this yarn! The combination of sequined yarn and this lovely pattern, creates an elegant cowl. This is perfect for travel because I can turn my daytime black top and travel pants into a sophisticated outfit for dinner just by adding this cowl. I found knitting with this yarn to be easy. Occasionally a sequin ends up in the middle of my knitting loop, but I can just pull it to one side to knit the stitch and it comes out looking great. Using sequined yarn is so much easier than adding sequins yourself.

An evening work that will give me a cowl with endless possibilities! It will go perfectly well with a simple outfit to add elegance for a dinner with friends. I have never used this type of yarn before. Can anyone tell me if it is harder to knit with yarn that has sequins?

How wide is this cowl. My math challenged brain doesn't compute starting out with 44 st and increasing to 84 st. I haven't made a cowl before and don't want a bulbous cowl for my daughter ... help please

If you read the whole pattern, you'll find that the stitch count only goes up for 2 rows and then is brought back down to the original cast on amount of stitches. Hope this helps. Happy knitting.

I could not find sequin yarn I liked so I went with a deep charcoal glitter yarn and it turned out fantastic. Goes great with a simple black dress and will wear it with my violet one next.

The pattern doesn't tell you where to place the sequins?

Hi luciadeb 8075952, The suggested yarn for this pattern is Boutique Swanky, which already has sequins in it. Hope this helps! -Editors of AllFreeKnitting

Are the sequins on the suggested yarn or do you have to sew them on after the cowl is completed?

the yarn has the sequins on it.

They are right on the yarn :-)
