If you are trying to learn how to knit a shawl it can definitely seem intimidating. This video tutorial will take you through all the steps you really need to pay attention to and have some stitch markers handy. You will be an expert knit shawl maker in no time and you will be able to show all your friends your awesome skills!

  • Stitch markers

How to Construct a Shawl

Notes:
Pm = place marker
Sm = slip marker
Yo = yarn over
M = marker

Shawl Construction Instructions

  1. CO 3 sts.

  2. Row 1: (k1, pm) twice, k1.

  3. Row 2: K across.

  4. Row 3: K1, sm, yo, k to m, yo, sm, k1.

  5. Rpt rows 2-3 to desired length and width. Leave enough yarn to BO all sts. 

  6. Weave in ends and wet block to finish.

This video is super helpful! I'm still a beginner knitter and I haven't tackled a shawl yet because they look complicated. BUT, this video and tutorial helped break it down for me :)
