Now that you have finally convinced yourself that you are ready to knit a shawl check out this knitting video to learn the easiest way to construct a shawl. If you are trying to learn how to knit a shawl it can definitely seem intimidating. This video tutorial will take you through all the steps you really need to pay attention to and have some stitch markers handy. You will be an expert knit shawl maker in no time and you will be able to show all your friends your awesome skills!

  • Stitch markers

How to Construct a Shawl

Pm = place marker
Sm = slip marker
Yo = yarn over
M = marker

Shawl Construction Instructions

  1. CO 3 sts.

  2. Row 1: (k1, pm) twice, k1.

  3. Row 2: K across.

  4. Row 3: K1, sm, yo, k to m, yo, sm, k1.

  5. Rpt rows 2-3 to desired length and width. Leave enough yarn to BO all sts. 

  6. Weave in ends and wet block to finish.
