Oh, and martyru, if you are comfortable enough with doing so, you could take this pattern and just work in the same knit and purl ribbing pattern in the cuffs , neck, and bottom of the sweater to finish the armholes with. That really wouldn't be to hard to do, unless, of course, you were thinking of a vest that buttons up instead of a pull over sweater.

As a man, I really like the detailed design in this sweater! I, too, would LOVE to see a pattern for a men's waistcoat with buttons down the front! I love unique things to wear; things that few other men might have! This isn't just a "woman" thing! I've always been the type to wear what I like, the colors I like, and so has my father; so I guess I get it from him. He used to wear those really suave suits back in the fifties, like a white dinner jacket with pink pants and a pink shirt, and white tie. My mother would swoon over him, and HOW! I wish more of us guys would embrace the patterns and the colors and the textures, because I am sick to death of the same old ugly things other guys wear year after year. Of course, then I wouldn't stand out so much, so maybe I should just leave it alone and keep getting the attention from the ladies, lol!

I would like to make a nice sweater vest for my 10 year old grandson and matching one for my son-in-law. Do you have a nice pattern for me to use that's fairly easy that they both would like?
