In need of a new summer tote, but don't know which pattern to choose? Then I would highly recommend this Summer Woven Bag as your next project for summer. Not only is this roomy free knitting pattern made with incredibly soft yarn, but the braided straps make this tote incredibly strong and less likely to stretch.

This is an interesting bag pattern, but making it in 100% alpaca yarn doesn't seem to be very practical. I would want to make it out of something sturdier, maybe a cotton blend, linen, or hemp yarn. If you don't have chunky yarn you could use two or even three strands of a lighter weight yarn.

You can use any chunky yarn to make this, as long as you get the right gauge. I think it's a very nice bag.

I am going to make this tote bag, but not with the suggested yarn, as it is to expensive and I think this particular colorway has been discontinured. I am now researching a suitable yarn to substitute.

I will probably make it, but NOT with the yarn shown in the project; it is just too expensive and I don't even know IF i can knit with Alpaca as I am highly allergic to wool. Even the wool blends for socks break me out and finding substitutes for that is nigh impossible; so I don't knit socks at all.

Nice bag but I can't see spending nearly $200 on the yarn to make it. I doubt if there will be many people making this.
