Is the border stitch pattern added after the shawl is made? or is the border and shawl knitted at the same time?

Hello! The border and shawl are knitted at the same time. Hope this helps! -Kathryn, Editor of AllFreeKnitting

Yes, that's all right. But I'm racking my brains over this. I'm not a beginner knitter, but I'm pulling my hair out over this one! I would really like to make it! boo hoo. / I can't be the only one struggling with making this. I can't even get it started. I don't know what to do. /

An oops not enough yarn project, was thinking of putting a border on to increase the size and there it is in the picture. Thanks!

I think this will be the next shawl on my needles. Beautiful!
