Knitting Needle Size8 or 5 mm

Yarn Weight(4) Medium Weight/Worsted Weight and Aran (16-20 stitches to 4 inches)

Gauge17 stitches (sts) and 32 rows = 4" [10 cm] in garter stitch

Finished SizeApproximately (Approx) 7" x 63" [18 x 160 cm]

Materials List

  • Caron® Simply Soft® Stripes™ (4 oz/113 g; 194 yds/177 m) - Golden Gate Bridge (14003) 2 balls
  • Size U.S. 8 (5 mm) knitting needles or size needed to obtain gauge


Cast on 42 stitches (sts).
1st row: (Wrong side – WS). Knit.
2nd row: Knit into front and back of first stitch (Kfb). Knit to last 2 sts. Knit last 2 stitches together (K2tog).
Repeat (Rep) last 2 rows until Scarf along one side measures 63" [160 cm]. Cast off.


Increase 1 stitch by knitting into front and back of next stitch
Knit next 2 stitches together
Wrong side
