The Trendy Knit Bun Hat makes wearing your hair in a bun while wearing a hat no problem at all. This free knitting pattern is as easy as knitting a regular beanie, but with the added feature of a hole to accommodate your bun or pony tail. Perhaps the best part is you can work up this unique style using only one skein of yarn. The beautiful turquoise color really makes this knitted hat shine. Made with worsted weight yarn, you don't need to sacrifice comfort or style with this clever knitting pattern. It's never been easier to throw your hair up and still keep your head warm on chilly days.

For the medium size - casting on 90 stitches - how can you do a K2, P2 ribbing with a number of stitches that is not divisible by 4?

For ribbing to work out correctly for knitting in the round, it does not have to be divisible by 4 it must be divisible by 2, which this is. Hope this helps, happy knitting.

This is my favorite bun pattern yet. The other ones I have seen have used chunky yarn. I like that this is a worsted weight yarn and just a simple pattern. It's perfect my friend who has been begging for one for months!
