Thick Garter Stitch Mitts

By: Anne from Flax and Twine

This adorable knit mitten pattern is super thick for extremely cold days. The Thick Garter Stitch Mitts are knit with size 15 needles, so they take no time at all to complete. This is a quick, satisfying pattern for beginning knitters or novice knitters who are looking for a fun and festive winter knitting pattern. The Garter Stitch Mitts are great for ice skating, snowy hikes, or any other winter activity.

hi I was wondering if you ever did youtube videos or would be willing to for these garter mittens?

They are a two needle pattern as indicated by the pattern, but the yarn is a 6 super bulky, not a 4 worsted weight as indicated here on all free knitting.

Are these garter stitch mittens knittened on two needles or four needles

These look great and are certainly easy and quick to make. I knit for mitts every year for kids in needy families (a pair takes me about 3 hours). I was wondering if it is possible to scale these mittens down to a childrens' size (maybe for an eight to ten-year old) and still have stitches to make the thumb? Thanks ever so much.

Hi nancycarroll7 5614698, We suggest leaving a comment on the designer's blog page. She may have some insight. Hope this helps! -Editors of AllFreeKnitting
