"This is the 8th or 9th dead link I've hit this morning trying to look at the patterns from one newsletter, i can only presume that the person putting the newsletter together does not have time to check and verify the links."
"New pattern, first time I've seen a picture of it on this site. Unfortunately, there is a problem with the link, when you click on it you receive an "oops" message, that the pattern is no longer available."
"Not sure why you would leave your comment on an entirely different pattern but anyway, the pattern actually specifies and gives step by step instructions on what the chain 5 is- (Bring st back to left-hand needle. K1) 5 times Chain 5 made. Bring st back to left-hand needle. K4tog. Rep from to last 2 (3-1) st(s). Chain 5. Bring st back to left-hand needle. K3 (4-2) tog. Fasten off."

For those having difficulty with this pattern, I noticed that a previous explanation of why the pattern is not faulty has been removed. The K1,P1, K1 are all being done in the same stitch, which increases 2 stitches, the sl1, k2tog, psso is done immediately after that stitch and decreases two stitches, so the stitch count is being maintained all the way through the pattern. You will not complete one set of stitches without doing the other, so you are completing those instructions 40 times across the row. Hope this helps someone. Happy knitting!

I wish it had said how to increase that many stitches evenly. I tried to divide it buy it is hard to increase every 3.27 stitches! Cute blanket tho'!

The pattern increases by 2 stitches on the k1, p1, k1 in the same stitch...then decreases by 2 stitches with k2tog, psso. Hope this helps

Yes I agree, the pattern is faulty! I think the pattern rows are missing YO's or adding stitches! I should have gone with my instinct and not started this project. This is a little upsetting at this point...

Psso = pass slip stitch over. This is a decrease. This pattern increases 2 stitches by k1, p1, k1 in same stitch then decreases 2 stitches by sl1, k2tog, psso. Hope this helps. )

The pattern is faulty. It does not work? Too many psso for stitching? Doesn't make sense.

The pattern is not "faulty" it does work, it increases at the exact same rate that it decreases, so the stitch count is always maintained. Someone else has already explained in detail how this pattern is constructed and works out beautifully.
