The best thing about knit blanket patterns is that they can be whatever you want them to be. A blanket is a blank canvas, open to any design, stitch, or pattern you please. The Dazzling Squares Blanket is a great example of how creative a blanket can be. This beautiful garter stitch blanket is knit in a mesmerizing geometric squares design. We love the shades of brown shown in the picture, but lighter pastels or bold solids would look lovely in a nursery or child's room as well.

This is a fun baby blanket pattern worked from the center out. Its finished size is 38" x 38", but if you wanted to make it bigger you could just keep on going in the same pattern. You could also skip making stripes and use a self patterning yarn to create a unique finished design.
