I really like the textured look of this scarf. It's a great idea to break up the basket weave pattern with sections of garter stitch. Although I like the golden color it's done in for the photo, I'm sure it would look great in sage green, dark brown, or even navy blue.

What a neat scarf pattern! It's a great way to practice knit and purl - plus you get an awesome scarf at the end.
