Not all Christmas knitting patterns have to be complicated and frustrating! This All Wrapped Up Knit Pillow Pattern will teach you how to knit a pillow for Christmas even if you have very little experience with knitting. The festive colors and the adorable green bow make these lovely cushion covers look just like gifts under the tree! As a bonus, the only two types of stitches you need to know are the two easiest: stockinette stitch and garter stitch. Talk about a stress-free knitting pattern!

Easy

Knitting Needle Size8 or 5 mm

Yarn Weight(4) Medium Weight/Worsted Weight and Aran (16-20 stitches to 4 inches)

Gauge18 sts and 24 rows = 4" (10.2cm) in St st. Save time, check your gauge.

Finished SizeSquare Striped Pillow: 18" x 18" (46cm x 46cm); Bow Pillow: 12" x 12" (30cm x 30cm); Rectangle Striped Pillow: 12" x 16" (30cm x 41cm)

Materials List

  • Willow Yarns™ Burrow Worsted (75% acrylic/25% washable wool; 100g/197yd)

    • 730001-0016 Delicious (2 balls): A

    • 730001-0001 Chalk (3 balls): B

    • 730001-0055 Baby Lettuce (2 balls): C


  • US size 8 (5mm) straight needles or size needed to obtain gauge
  • 18" x 18" (46cm x 46cm) pillow form
  • 12" x 12" (30cm x 30cm) pillow form
  • 12" x 16" (30cm x 41cm) pillow form
  • Yarn needle

Instructions

Square Striped Pillow

Front and Back (make 2)

With A, CO 80 sts. Work in St st for 12 rows.

Join B and cont in St st for 12 rows.

Cont to alternate colors every 12 rows until pillow measures 18" (46cm).

BO. Sew seams on 3 sides. Insert pillow form and sew fourth side closed.

Bow Pillow

Front and Back (make 2)

With B, CO 54 sts.

Work in St st for 12"(30cm).

BO.

Sew seams on 3 sides. Insert pillow form and sew fourth side closed.

Ribbon (make 2)

With C, CO 14 sts.

K every row until ribbon measures 36" (91cm).

Referring to photo, wrap around pillow and sew ends tog as well as tacking to pillow.

Bow

With C, CO 10 sts.

K every row until piece measures 28" (71cm).

BO.

Referring to photo, make 2 loops meet in the middle. Tack through all layers in the center.

CO 5 sts.

K every row for 2" (5cm).

BO.

Wrap around center bet loops. Sew ends tog. Place bow on pillow and tack in place.

Rectangle Striped Pillow

Front and Back (make 2)

With A, CO 54 sts.

K every row for 2" (5cm), ending after a WS row.

Join B.

K every row for 2" (5cm), ending after a WS row.

Join C.

K every row for 2" (5cm), ending after a WS row.

Rep color sequence until piece measures 12" (30cm).

BO.

Sew seams on 3 sides. Insert pillow form and sew fourth side closed.
