Yarn Weight(6) Super Bulky/Super Chunky (4-11 stitches for 4 inches)

Gauge1 stitches, 2 rows, 3 inches. stockinette stitch

Materials:

  • Universal Yarn Bella Chenille Multi (100% polyester; 100g/131 yds) 203 Denim Patch – 2 (2, 3, 3) balls
  • Needles: US Size 10½ (6.5 mm) 16” circular, set of dpns or size needed to obtain gauge

Notions: Tapestry needle, stitch markers, stitch holder, waste yarn/stitch holders, 3 snap sets, Clover 2.5” pom pom maker

GAUGE: 10 sts x 14 rows = 4” in St st.Save time, check your gauge.

Finished Measurements:
Chest: 18 (20, 22, 24)”
Length: 10 (11¼, 12½ ,13¾)”
Head Circumference: 15¼ (16¾)”
Sizes: 3 (6, 12, 24) months (Sweater)  3 - 6 month (12 - 24 month) (Hat)


Instructions:
SLEEVES
With dpns, cast on 12 (14, 16, 18) sts. PM and join to work in the rnd.

Cuff
Rnd 1: * K1, p1; rep from * to end. Rep this rnd, 4 more times.

Main Sleeve
Inc rnd: K1, m1, knit to last st, m1, k1– 2 sts inc’d. Work in St st (knit every rnd) until Sleeve meas 3”. Rep Inc rnd– 16 (18, 20, 22) sts. Cont in St st until Sleeve meas 5 (6, 7, 8)”. Bind off 2 sts, place rem 14 (16, 18, 20) sts on waste yarn. Set aside.

SWEATER BODY
With circular ndl, cast on 46 (50, 56, 60) sts. PM and join to work in the rnd.

Hem
Rnd 1: * K1, p1; rep from * to end. Rep this rnd, 4 more times.

Body
Work in St st (knit every rnd) until Body meas 6 (7, 8, 9)” from cast- on edge.
Next rnd: K23 (25, 28, 30), pm, knit to end.

Join Sleeves
Note: Yoke is worked back and forth
Next row (RS): Bind off 2 sts, knit to marker, bind off 2 sts, knit across sts from first Sleeve, pm, knit to end, knit across sts from second Sleeve, turn – 70 (78, 88, 96) sts.
Purl a WS row
Dec row: * K1, k2tog, knit to 3 sts before m, ssk, k1, sl m; rep from *2 more times, k1, k2tog, knit to last 3 sts, ssk, k1– 8 sts dec’d.
Next row (WS): Purl.
Rep these last 2 rows, 5 (6, 6, 7) more times– 22 (22, 32, 32) sts rem.
Next row (RS): * K1, p1; rep from * to end. Rep this row, 3 more times. Bind off all sts loosely in patt.

Front Flap
With RS facing, pick up and knit 12 (14,14, 15) sts from side of Left Front opening. Work 3 rows in k1, p1 ribbing. Bind off all sts loosely in patt.

FINISHING
Weave in ends. Sew one half of snap sets to Front Flap, evenly spaced. Sew other half of snap sets to Left Sleeve underneath Flap.

 


HAT
With circ ndl, cast on 38 (42) sts. PM and join to work in the rnd.

Brim
Rnd 1: * K1, p1; rep from * to end. Rep this rnd, 4 more times.

Hat Body
Knit every rnd until Hat meas 4½ (5½)” from cast-on edge.

Shape Crown
Switch to dpns.
Rnd 1: * K2tog, k17 (19); rep from * 1 more time– 36 (40) sts rem.
Rnd 2: * K7 (8), k2tog; rep from * 3 more times– 32 (36) sts rem.
Rnd 3: * K6 (7), k2tog; rep from * 3 more times– 28 (32) st rem.
Rnd 4: * K5 (6), k2tog; rep from * 3 more times– 24 (28) st rem.
Rnd 5: * K4 (5), k2tog; rep from * 3 more times–20 (24) st rem.
Rnd 6: * K2tog; rep from * to end– 10 (12) sts rem. Break yarn leaving 8” tail.
Weave tail in and out of rem live sts, pull taut.

FINISHING
Following instructions on package, make a pom pom. Tie pom pom to top of hat. Weave in ends.

If you follow the pattern as written, the sweater will be wrong side out.

That is not true, the sweater is worked in the round until the yoke, so what you are saying it simply not true.
