This Secret Garden Knit Shawl Pattern uses just a single ball of gorgeous, variegated DK-weight yarn in a multitude of springy, floral colors, making it a great warm weather outfit enhancer. Yarn Weight(3) Light/DK (21-24 stitches to 4 inches)

Gauge22 sts x 36 rows = 4" (10.2cm) in garter st. Save time, check your gauge.

Finished Size46" x 16" (117cm x 41cm)

  • US size 6 (4mm) 29" circular needle or size needed to obtain gauge
  • Stitch marker
  • Yarn needle

Instructions

Shawl

CO 3 sts.

Row 1: *K1, yo; rep from * to last st, k1.
Row 2: K across.
Rows 3-4: Rep Rows 1-2.
Row 5: (K1, yo) twice, k2, yo, pm, k1, yo, k2, (yo, k1) twice.
Row 6: K across.
Row 7: (K1, yo) twice, k to m, yo, sl m, k1, yo, k to last 2 sts, (yo, k1) twice.
Rep Rows 6-7 until shawl is approx 16" (41cm) from beg.

The recommended yarn is a #2 sport weight not a #3 dk weight yarn, however with some messing around with yarn and changing needle size it does work for pretty much any size yarn and comes out rather nice.

Its funny that the designer mentioned above that you could use this to match your craziest pair of shoes because I actually have a pair of clunky heeled pumps that are stripped with these exact colors. Oh no, guess that means I will have to make this now to wear with those shoes and a pair of jeans.

This is so pretty! I love the colors, and it's amazing that this can be made with only one skein.
