I love Paton's metallic but you can't always find it. I have a few skeins since I made a top with it. Guess I know what I am going to make with the rest of it. This will be a nice addition to the top and also to another solid color outfit I have. When you work in an office you are always looking for an additional accessory. And with the different temperatures it comes in handy. Thank you.

I love how the lace makes this scarf light enough to wear in the spring, but it can also be used in the fall. I have some metallic yarn, that i bought on sale, that has been sitting in my stash for quite some time and this pattern would be perfect for it.

love this pattern - no idea if this yarn is still available three years later, but there will be a yarn I can use that works. I am going to have such a wardrobe of scarves and cowls that there should be one for every outfit and one for every day of the week -- perfection

Made this, it turned out beautiful layes so nice actually made it into a cowl

This scarf is lovely however Paton's Pewter metallic is not gray/silvery, it is very dark--disappointed. Any tips on weaving yarn ends on such an "open" stitch and with such slippery yarn? Will try this pattern with regular worsted yarn. To lestyle 9757256: how did your scarf turn out. I looked for Red Heart's Super Saver in Gemstone 0959 but must be discontinued.

I've made a bunch of these scarves and have made them into infinity scarves also-the pewter is quite silver in its look. as far as darning in the ends, I just knit the end into the next row-so I had two strands of yarn for about 10-15 stitches.

Red Heart super Saver colour Gemstone was discontinued several years ago, I think the person who mentioned it said she had 1 alien ball. Loved that colour wish I could get more!

Let's play nice...some folks crochet and knit (I, for one!) and it is nice to have surprise patterns like this one!

Such indignation! Don't be so cranky.. how does it hurt you if a knitting pattern slips into a crochet newsletter? Take the stick out and lighten up. If the pattern does not apply to you, ignore it. Sheesh!

This is a knit scarf posted in a crochet newsletter.

Does it really matter? Knitters put up with this all the time and don't feel it necessary to make rude or snide comments, we just move on.

I started this pattern today. 10/01/13, using size 9 straight crystal palace, this is my second time using these in seven years. I also used a spare alien of Red Heart Supersaver 6oz acrylic yarn in Gemstone 0959. It's working up very nicely, and fast...the colorway will match most of the clothes that my daughter is wearing this fall...great pattern....Will post again when finished and I present it to my daughter....

In the comments under the pattern the designer says she used just one skein.

How many skeins of yarn was required for this scarf ???

It actually states in the pattern, that its just one skein.

How many skeins were used for this pattern ????

One skein.

I would love to make this for my Granddaughter, but please tell us the quantity of yarn used.
