Four Winds Hat

search

The Four Winds Hat is a beautiful free knitting pattern you don't want to miss. The design of this hat is inspired by the fiber, and creates a very plush, delicious hat due to the twisted stitch pattern. This free knit hat pattern takes a bit of patience since all of the stitches are twisted every other row, but the end result is truly stunning and certainly worth your hard work. The crown of this hat is really where the design shines. The four points give it something special and as mentioned before, the stitch pattern is mesmerizing. Work up this beauty and see for yourself!

Well this is definitely not your typical hat pattern! It looks really amazing, both in shape and the stitch pattern. I think it would take me a little time to master the twist stitches but Gretchen Tracy explains everything clearly and also has a video for finishing the hat using three needle bind-off.

I LOVE everything about this hat, the look, the color, the gorgeous Malabrigo yarn the pattern calls for, even the name. It is a bit above my skill level right now, so I'm going to save it for when I feel adventurous.
