I made this in a bulkier yarn, Kollage Yarns Glisten, using size 9 needles. I needed four skeins of that yarn. It is more of an outdoor sort of cowl because of the thicker yarn, but it ended up being a very beautiful wintery cowl. The pattern is well written and, obviously, adjustable for different yarns. I'm wearing it double in this photo.

Finished binding this off today. Although it seems to flare out from the center in the lace sections. How do I block this so it lays flat and the holes open up? I want it to look like pic

I'm a new knitter. I tried this cowl and it turned out quite well. I've gifted it to my sister and will make one for myself too.

I ran a print of the Canaletto cowl pattern two weeks ago. I've now made it in both sizes. It is quick and easy. For both I chose Vanna's Choice medium weight acrylic yarn. It made up beautifully. I plan to make up two more during the late winter months with corresponding knit hats. Should be lovely gifts! One nice thing to note ... both my 50+ year old sister and her 20+ year old daughter wanted one so they are versatile and appeal to many age groups!

I began this cowl then lost the pattern and now it won't download. At least 30% of patterns I've saved to my patterns on this web site are inaccessible. I'm starting to think it's a huge waste of time.

I have made two of these cowls. One for each of my daughters and am on my third. I made the larger size and this time even added more stiches fro a little longer cowl. It is so easy and you get lots of compliments on it

Great cowl. Easy to access by going to Megan Goodacre's site and entering Canaletto Cowl in the search box.
