I have made twice. The first time with stretchy yarn and it was not long enough. The second time with soft baby yarn and it was too big...??? Can not figure out how to cut pattern down...

Made this hat once and it was not big enough for a 2 month old...I am trying again and knitting it longer so it will cover ears at least...hope it works.

Hi, in the comments one knitter mentioned using dk yarn, how does compare, in weight, to worsted 4 ply. Thanks you. Nora

Hello everyone, To print this pattern, please click on the link that says "click here for knitting pattern." Then, you should be able to print directly from the site or blog where the pattern is from. If you would like to print just the text and images of the pattern, try highlighting the pattern and pictures and then copy and paste that information into a blank Word document. Instead of printing from the site, print directly from the Word document. I hope this helps. Thank you, Editors of AllFreeKnitting

Could you please e-mail me the instructions? annt1217@hotmail.com Thanks!

To stchr3247 - could you please e-mail this baby hat pattern? I have tried for days to get it to print with no success . I have a new granddaughter just waiting for this hat!! Thank you very much.

Could someone please tell me how to get this pattern to print. I am getting the same results as the entry above - a picture of the hat and then a magazine subscription form. I would dearly love to knit this for my new granddaughter.

just finished this one - EASY ---in lilac, really cute

I also knitted this in the round and used the magic loop method. I used a spring green bamboo blend. Very cute but what age baby will this fit. To big for a newborn.

I just completed this little "fairy" hat w/a stem on the top. I used a cotton yarn/wash/dry. It took about 2 ounces of yarn. The hat is very easy to knit but having past experience would be very helpful. I used #7 needle in the round w/double pointed ends After rim completed I didn't know if I was supposed to K 1 row, P 1 row so I did K1,P1,K1,P1 along each row (result nice hatched appearance) I put in the eyelets where instruction said "after about 22 rows..." I didn't know if it was 22 rows from the very first edge row or 22 rows from the eyelet row...as far as I can see it was 22 rows after the eyelet row. when instructions start for reducing stitches to create the top point of the hat, I switched to several short double pointed #7 needles for easier manipulation of needles. I also switched to all knit sts for every row while reducing at the top so as to make knitting easier than k1 st, p1st...while deleting holding a few needles. The cord at the tip of the hat is easy to knit if you remember...to ALWAYS slide the few stitches to the end of the needle w/the yarn along the side of the needle. The hat is really cute and in cotton cool for the summer. Rosemary
