Fisherman Ribbed Pillow

By: Linda from Purl Avenue

This pretty statement pillow is a fun way to dress up a couch, chair, or bed with a touch of DIY flare. The Fisherman Ribbed Pillow is an easy, chunky knit pillow pattern fastened shut with two large buttons. This pattern uses both the fisherman's rib stitch (hence the name) and the stockinette stitch, making it a great pattern for practice. The Fisherman Ribbed Pillow is a great way to add a touch of rustic, simple charm to your home.

A great accent pillow for a chair or sofa that is made by knitting two yarns with different gauges and textures together. You can also achieve a similar look by just using a super bulky yarn, but this would not give you the variations in the textures like this pillow has.

This looks like a nice quick pillow cover to knit up. I think you could use two strands together of worsted weight yarn if you didn't have the super bulky/super chunky yarn. You could make it in the off white color like the picture or coordinate it to your decor.

My favorite throw pillow has a knit covering, but I bought it at a store. I never considered knitting a pillow myself! What a great idea!

A truly cuddly cushion yet the cables are crisp and neat. I am not one for cushions everywhere or anywhere (other than the dog pillows and they are on the floor) but this is one I think I shall knit for here
