The Amethyst Array Knit Hat is a nice and cozy free knitting pattern perfect for cooler temperatures. The purple band surrounding the middle of the hat is a nice accent to this classic style. You don't need to be an expert knitter in order to successfully work up this knit hat, because it uses simple stitches and an easy-to-follow pattern. In fact, you may find it so easy you'll want to whip up a few for family members and loved ones. This is also a great pattern to use if you're interested in donating knit hats to those less fortunate.

This would knit up quick with such large yarn and I think it would look good in two colors but I think it would look awesome all in cream too. The difference in the stitches would make a nice texture change without changing the color.

Ooh, pretty! I love the color band around the center. I could imagine a lot of color combinations that would look good in the pattern. Plus, it's super bulky/super chunky yarn and big needles so it will work up fast. I'm thinking shades of brown, or maybe throw caution to the wind and use pinks!

I like the chunkiness of the stitches and the visual interest of the pop of color the wide band gives this hat. This is a great versatile unisex pattern, as the write-up says, great for charity knitting. I bet it would look just as interesting in a solid color yarn, too.
