This Turquoise Faux Cable Cowl is the perfect cowl knitting pattern for those who love the cabled look but don't know how to do it. This free knitting pattern just fakes the cabled look by slipping and crossing stitches--there's no real cable knitting involved. It's clever, easy, and quick. Plus, the vibrant turquoise of this knitted cowl pattern is fantastic. I am trying this pattern right now and I love it, but it is definitely not a beginner pattern!

Another fake cable pattern ! The joy of these imitation cables is that they can be used in other projects -- a crib or pram blanket or a lap throw come to mind as the simplest choices, but a simple sweater would work as would a hat . Opportunities for a knitter to take baby steps to create an almost original

This is a beautiful pattern! There are so many cabled patterns that I have found, but none are like this one. The pattern is easy to follow, which is very nice! I also like the color, but I would definitely make it in a different color, like pink or purple. This would make a great gift for any woman who loves to wear scarves.

I am definitely not quite ready to tackle cables they look so intimidating but I am loving the way this yarn lays in this style. Definitely saving this one for later. Thanks!

I'm also a little scared of cables! If anyone has some good tips or tricks for tackling your first cabling project, please let me know!!

another great pattern for beginning knitters - not ready to tackle cables but can get that look and feel good about the finished product may well find the interest in cables awakened
