Classic Kitchen Dishcloth

By: Joan from Laws of Knitting

The secret to the Classic Kitchen Dishcloth is its nubby seed stitch texture, perfect for wiping away grease and grime. This easy knit dishcloth pattern is the perfect project for beginning knitters, especially because seed stitch is a popular stitch used in tons of more complicated patterns. Knit a set of Classic Kitchen Dishcloths as a housewarming present for a friend or keep a set for your own home.

This is a very basic dish cloth or wash cloth pattern, easy to do and quick to make. Although it looks good in the solid colors, I think it might be nice in some of the self patterning cotton yarns that are available. Or else to give it some interest you could knit it in stripes of complementary or contrasting colors.
