What a beautiful halter top for a spring party! I'm going to try it in short sleeves as well.

not only UGLY, UGLY, UGLY, but trashy as well.

Possibly the ugliest thing I've ever seen. Why would someone knit something so trashy and impractical? Lol

After looking on Ravelry I see it's a halter. My only reason for not making this is apparently it's not for the big boobed...while I have a bra I can convert to a halter, there is no place for the back strap that wouldn't be showing in this. Darn :/ I really liked this one.

I liked the sweater the first time I saw it, however I don't have the shape for it and would rather there was more back to it. That said, I don't believe it is "trashy" looking as annick1960 stated...simply not for most of us. A front view would have been nice.

RokIDo's comment was very helpful and after viewing the photos on Ravelry, I can say that (1) it is up around the neck like a halter, and (2) it might make a lovely solution over a bathing suit, although there are simpler patterns to serve that purpose as well if not better. Not sure I'd ever want that high of a neckline at the beach, plus the long sleeves, all the while leaving my entire back exposed. I have to say, however, it's an alluring design for a younger person than myself! ;-)

I love the style but I'm afraid I'd have to walk around with my arms held the way the model is holding hers or the shoulders - what little there is of them - would just fall off my arms. And I think I can speak for most of us when I say where is the front view?

I think this could make a great after swim solution!

If you read the pattern, yes, it is around her neck; and fastened at the front side with a button & button hole. would be cute for us non-celebs with a tank top under

UUMMM... I agree with so many of the other commentors...And after looking at the picture for a while... Is it up around her neck..like a halter??

I believe this could be a beautiful sweater will additional thought to increase a portion of the backless section. Among the celebrity female crowd, backless and nearly frontless are quite saught after for evening wear. However, for the ordinary, everyday wearer, some additional back is a necessity. In addition, a picture of the front of the sweater would be most beneficial to whomever is attempting or wants to attempt to knit this item.

This is a horrible picture of a strange-looking sweater. The sweater has almost no back, so why is there no picture of the front? How can anyone get an idea of what this sweate is supposed to look like?

I would have liked to seen the front.

Silly really, in what kind of weather could you wear this, the sun would have to be on your back, then your arms would be too hot..LOL back to the drawing board!!!!!

Yeah, right! I going to wear a backless sweater with no visible means of support at my age. I don't think I would have worn it when I was 20! I had more scruples than that!

This is really a beautiful sweater, that with some time and thought could be made with a back in it for the faint-of-heart. If I had a great back, yeh, I'd wear it.

No thanks! How is that sweater supposed to stay on? It looks trashy anyway.
