Knit A Square Crocheting and knitting for charity, especially for children in need, is a meditative act of love. More importantly, it makes a difference. There are many millions of abandoned and vulnerable children and AIDS orphans in southern Africa, who live in dire poverty. Knit a Square charity aims to help these children.


Care To Knit, Inc.

Care to Knit Inc Care to knit, Inc. is a non-profit organization whose mission is to provide hand knit and crocheted items such as scarves, lap shawls, hats and other related accessories to those in shelters, hospitals, nursing homes and hospices.


Alice's Embrace

Alices Embrace Alice's Embrace is devoted to providing hand-knit and hand-crocheted prayer shawls and lap blankets to those suffering from Alzheimer's Disease. Alice Figueira passed away from Alzheimer's Disease on May 29, 2011. She was given a blanket that was hand knit by her daughter and that item provided warmth, comfort and helped ease her anxiety. Looking to provide that same comfort to others who are suffering from this disease, we created Alice's Embrace. We are seeking volunteers to knit and crochet the patterns that we have created.


Mother Bear Project

Mother Bear Project The Mother Bear Project is dedicated to providing comfort and hope to children affected by HIVAIDS in emerging nations, by giving them a gift of love in the form of a hand-knit or crocheted bear.


Nimble Fingers on the Prairie

Nimble Fingers on the Prairie Nimble Fingers on the Prairie knits and crochets hats, mittens, scarves, afghans, lap robes and hats for Minnesota soldiers. Their items are given to children who live in poverty in a twelve county area of west central Minnesota.


Knitting and Giving

Knitting and Giving Knitting Giving is a charity group that has been established to provide warm hand knit or crocheted items to those in need. Based in Connecticut, we hand deliver donated items to local hospitals, homeless shelters, and more, as well as ship donations to those in need throughout the United States and abroad. Please consider donating a warm item to help someone in need.


Binky Patrol

Binky Patrol Binky patrol is a national organization that knits, sews, quilts and crochets blankets, also known as binkies, for children and teens who are sick, in hospitals, in foster care, in shelters, abused, homeless or experiencing trauma. Binky patrol makes these blankets for children and teens in hopes of providing some comfort during trying times.


Delaware Head Huggers

Delaware Head Huggers We are a splinter group of Head Huggers, which was started by Sue Thompson in 2001. We make handmade hats and caps for patients who have lost their hair due to chemotherapy, brain surgery or burns. These hats are delivered throughout Delaware as well as to many neighboring states. We also provide caps to individuals who request them. All hats and caps are given free of charge to try to help patients through a difficult time.


Care Wear Volunteers, Inc.

Care Wear Volunteers Inc Care Wear Volunteers, Inc. works to provide apparel and related items to hospitalized infants and children by recruiting volunteers and providing information (hospital names, addresses, and needs) and patterns for hats, booties, blankets, toys, kimonos, burial garments, etc. in a range of sizes from preemie to adult.


Patterns for Change

Patterns for Change Patterns for Change helps crocheters, knitters, and sewers create and donate clothes for families and individuals living in poverty. We don't just accept donations for shelters and sliding-scale clinics, we also partner with crafting groups, offer drop box locations, and host activities and events to get crafters excited about creating and giving items for donation.
