Shawl Crocus
Shawl Crocus

A fun intermediate knitting pattern, this Shawl Crocus is a great DIY accessory! It can be hard to find a shawl knitting pattern that is stylish and modern but this project does the trick! A great DIY gift idea for all women, this cozy shawl is the missing accessory in anyone's wardrobe. If you are an experienced knitter who wants a unique project to tackle, this project is for you.

From the Blogger: "This sideway shawl is knitted with straight needles and it works well enough for experienced knitters. The lace pattern is easy to remember. A twist gives volume to the border and allows a great variety of points."

I was able to download the pattern where it is translated to English however I do not think a beginner should try this without help. I was able to figure out what the designer meant by KX and PX. When you look at the pattern it can be interpreted as knit until two stitches or however before marker and as you increase the number of stitches on the pattern that number will increase as well. I think it is a clever way to explain the pattern. This will go on my list because I like the detail in the pattern. I can still read a little French so this will be fun to read the designer's personal notes. Thank you.

I don't find anywhere that it will translate this pattern into English. Does someone actually have the English pattern that can be shared?

Hi seager, you can find the English version of this pattern by following this link: http://p9.storage.canalblog.com/97/43/1032368/102817718.pdf. Hope this helps! -Editors of AllFreeKnitting

The pictures provided on the designers website are so much more attractive than the one here. I am glad I clicked the link. This is a feminine and flouncy shawl with beautiful edging. You will see the pattern in French but there is a download version in English.

Here it goes again. Once I locate a pattern I would love to knit, there is some sort of issue with the pattern. It never fails me. Thank you all for the posts here.

Hi Delphine Bryant, please see the reply from the designer of this pattern: "Hi, In my post on the blog page http//www.tricotepastout.com/archives/2013/03/23/ == 2672092... you have this sentence ( around the middle of the page) Pattern In English to download CrocusShawlette, you just have to select it and download. Best regards, Camille" Hope this helps! -Editors of AllFreeKnitting

Sure would be nice to get the pattern in English!

No place to translate on the site that comes up on my computer.

Can someone explain KX and PX? Does it mean knit across and purl across? Direction in English not clear. Thank you

Hi! X mean " a certain number of stitches" Increasing part Row 1 (right side) sl1, KX, Inc1, K1, M, k5 , M, SSK, Yo, k1, Yo, K2tog, (Yo, k1) 3 times, Yo, k2. X represent the number of stitches you have in the stocking stich part , at the beginnig of the row. Rows 2 and 4(wrong side) PX and finish the row with K2. In this row, you have to purl all the stitches and finish with knit 2 stitches. The number of stitches of the stocking stitch part is always changing when you increase or decrease, so , the number "X" is practical . If I had to note every number of stitches for each row, the pattern would have been too long. best regads, Camille

I don't even see the link for the translation, but I would love to have the instructions in English also. Please post in English.

I tried the link for the English translation but it didn't work for me. Would love to knit this beautiful shawl so if you have a working link for the translation please post. Many thanks.

Hello mskemp 0285650! Please see the designer's reply to the comment directly above yours for information on how to access the English version of the pattern.

A beautiful shawl made with super fine 100 percent merino wool in a soft, pastel color! The cable border and lace pattern give the shawl a very elegant look. It took me a couple of minutes to find the the English version of this pattern and I thought I would post the link here if anyone is looking for it! http//p9.storage.canalblog.com/97/43/1032368/10281 == 7718.pdf
