Pilasters Knit Hat

search

"This pattern was designed for Delaware Head Huggers. It's super simple and fast to knit. The model was knit using super bulky yarn, but the pattern instructions include information for super bulky, chunky, worsted and sport weight yarn as well as how to adjust the size. This is a great project to work on while traveling or watching sports. Make a few and donate some to your local cancer center or homeless shelter too."

This is a nice pattern and I'm so happy that the designer not only included adjusting for different sizes (hats are often tight on me) but also different weights of yarn. I always have more worsted weight than super bulky/super chunky yarn in my stash that I want to use up (to make room for more yarn, of course!).

I am not often drawn to this style of hat as I like the style and drama of a brim, but this one has something that I cannot define and I want to knit it - perhaps for myself perhaps as a gift, but it does have a certain appeal.

Very interesting design. This one is attractive to me because I am not a "hat person" and always feel the ribbed brim on some knit hats are too tight. The openwork on this one might feel a little airier and looser. It's going on my list.
